We are looking for a multi-faceted and highly experienced professional, who will lead our cross-functional cards, payments and retail banking ‘Centre of Excellence’ as the Principal Consultant and will deliver worldclass experiences for our customers. This senior role will be responsible and accountable for the entire practice and the success of its solutions. Key Deliverables:
- Generate a deep understanding of MAASR’s business strategy.
- Build a strong cards and payments practice ‘Centre of Excellence’.
- Lead architectural engagements, either directly or as part of a larger programme of work and take ownership for the successful delivery of customer value within time and scope.
- Architect cards and payments solutions of varied scale and complexity for clients on various technology platforms such as mainframe, thick/thin client, client server, browser and cloud.
- Design ‘Smartbuild’ solutions across issuing & acquiring modules, comprising key functions of application processing, underwriting, scoring, authorization, loyalty, fraud, accounting and settlements.
- Able to contribute to RFI/RFP requests and design & deliver innovative proof of concepts for customers.
- Manage multiple projects of different scale and don multiple hats at the same time i.e. presales, technical architect, consultant, SME, business analyst, program/project manager, PMO etc.
- Regularly review the industry landscape to better understand regulatory, competitive and customer trends and define implications for the practice/solutions.
- Engage at all levels of the customer’s business, from working with senior leadership to guiding IT specialists and developers on building and implementing solutions.
- Provide guidance and steerage on technical feasibility/options/solutions to deliver agreed requirements.
- Proactively identify project risks and escalate to the key stakeholders to instigate recovery action.
- Embrace and adapt to latest/evolving technologies for an enhanced solution delivery and UX.
- Lead and matrix manage assigned technical and 3rd party teams.
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience working with large banks, card issuers, merchant acquirers, fintechs, IT and ITES, having expertise in and focus on financial services, especially in cards, payments, consumer lending and retail banking across all functions.
- Experience working in the consulting industry.
- In depth knowledge of the features and construct of credit, debit, commercial, corporate, charge, purchase, travel, lodge, retail, prepaid, gift, loyalty and private label cards.
- Thorough knowledge of Visa and MasterCard payment products, systems and technologies (ICA, VAP, MIP, BASE I/II, INET, IPM, ISO, etc). Knowledge of other franchises such as Amex, Diners, Europay, Euronet, JCB, Discover, Rupay, SWIFT, IMPS, UPI, etc would be an added advantage.
- Conversant with data messaging formats such as ISO 8583, MT, XML and QR code based payments.
- Deep understanding of domestic, cross border, e/m commerce, virtual and nostro/vostro payments.
- Well acquainted with payment gateways, switching solutions, scheme mandates and compliance.
- Working knowledge of magstripe, chip, wallets, NFC, RFID, SRC and other evolving technologies.
- Familiar with EMV, PCI-DSS, multiple factor authentication, Visa Cloud Token Framework, MasterCard tokenization, RSA tokenization and various encryption standards.
- Experience working with multiple technology and card platforms such as Vision+, CTL Prime, T-Sys, Intellect, Opus and other proprietary card solutions.
- Have held senior roles for big brands managing large (million+) cards portfolios, products & projects.
- Experience working in multiple geographies with multiple clients and products is a must.
- Experience launching/migrating new card products, technologies, card/payment platforms and solutions across banks, fintechs and other payment industry participants.
- Experience working on rule based and real-time AI/BI based fraud monitoring/control systems.
- Able to interpret business requirements and align this to the best use of the chosen technology solution.
- Managed large, diverse, cross-functional and remote teams located in various geographies.
- Have a track record of making good decisions that pay-off, even when others have challenged it.
- Have passion for problem solving through user centric design, applying expertise, data, research and judgement to ensure solutions are focused on making the biggest impact to our clients.
- Able to concisely and articulately present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with clients and stakeholders alike, at different levels.
- Have fluent English skills; proficiency in other foreign languages will be beneficial.
- A strong academic track record including the achievement of a good honours degree or equivalent.
- Technically competent and curious, with a passion to explore and an attitude to learn new tools.
- Flexibility to travel to and work on client sites within the UK.
